George Cron Children - About The GC3

The Greater Cleveland George Cron Golf Classic (The GC3) is a 20-week premiere golf league held as a tribute to fathers and the important role they play in their families and local communities. The league, tournament, and team scramble is possible with the support of family and friends who make it a success each year.

The league is scheduled to begin:
Monday, April 13, 2026
Royal Crest Golf Course
Columbia Station, Ohio

The golf league is named for George Cron, a local passionate golfer who played the game actively until his passing November 2021. George was a great example of a family leader, loving father, and inspiring grandfather who shared his love of golf with his Greater Cleveland family and friends for over 50 years.

Health issues sidelined George in early 2019, and with the help of PGA Professional Ron Tristano at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Challenge Golf Program, he returned to the game.

Opened in 1992, Challenge Golf was the first golfing facility in the nation designed specifically for individuals with disabilities and requiring rehabilitation.
